Mathematics you learn by doing, by solving puzzles, experimenting and wondering why something is true or why something cannot be true. The world of mathematics is full of gems, nice problems, puzzles and results that arise so naturally when we observe the world around us. With the Network Pages project we want to show the wonderful world of graph theory, networks science, probability theory and algorithms through puzzles and problems. We want you to experiment and discover the results by yourself. Don't worry if it takes some time to figure out a solution to a problem, at the end the trip to the result will fill you with satisfaction.
The rules of the game: every month we will post a problem, either purely mathematical or more applied. Whenever possible we will also give a small story regarding the problem we pose. In this way you can also learn the history behind the problem, how a problem came to exist! We challenge you to try and solve the exercises, you can send your solutions to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions, remarks or suggestions for problems feel free to contact us at the same email address. Every week after the problem is posed we will provide a small hint to the exercises and an extension for those who have solved it. At the end of the month we will provide the full solution!
